I painted "The Marvels of the Margay" with aquarelle on 300gsm watercolor paper. What makes this little predator truly marvelous, is the fact that it is the only cat in the world with ankle joints that can rotate 180 degrees. It can run down trees headfirst and hunts its prey in trees. Margays live in the rainforests of Central and South America. I had to paint this unique creature with his recognizable spots. Unfortunately, margays are listed as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List. With this painting, I want to portray the beauty and special characteristics of the margay.
