I painted "The Fabulous Lashes of the Eyelash Pitviper" with watercolor on 300gsm watercolor paper. I love the wonders of nature and prefer to depict them with watercolor. Painting all the scales and details in the flower was so much fun and took many hours. I decided to use a scattered bokeh effect in the background of the painting  to create the illusion of foliage and light falling through greenery. This snake is the bothriechis schlegelii, also known as the eyelash pitviper. This snake has scales above its eyes that resemble eyelashes. Combined with its bright yellow color, I had to paint this wonderful creature.
