I've painted this painting with watercolor on 300 gsm watercolor paper. I love nature and try to show its beauty and diversity in my work. In this artwork I painted the wonderful ranitomeya imitator with a tadpole on its back. This small frog is barely 2 centimeters long and lives in the Amazon rainforest. With its bright colors it looks very similar to poison frogs, but this is only an illusion to keep predators at bay. I called this painting "Paternal Devotion" because animals, just like people, can be very devoted to their children. In the ranitomeya imitator, the fathers carry their young on their backs and bring them to safety by hiding their tadpoles in puddles between bromelia leaves.
