I’ve painted "A Match made in the Amazon" with watercolor on 300gsm watercolor paper. I love the wonders of nature and prefer to depict them with watercolor. Sexual dimorphism, where the male and female of a species look different, is quite common in animals. In birds, we often see brightly colored males and duller females. Flowers usually don't show sexual dimorphism, but the orchid "Catasetum Tenebrosum" is different. The male orchid is portrayed in the left painting and the female orchid of this species is shown in the right painting. I found this couple truly fascinating and wanted to showcase this rare phenomenon in these two paintings.
